Until then, Airbnb remains one of the only safe places for my family to stay when we're traveling to see families who don't mask in public and don't regularly update their boosters. On a related note, stop asking me to do things for you when you won't do anything to help me.

Over the past five years,we have discovered that most Infectious Disease specialists don’t understand how infectious diseases work.
Much to our surprise and dismay.

Pro tip: measles was previously effectively eradicated in Ontario, it wasn’t spreading around and being fought off en masse by immunity. Immunity caused it to barely exist. It was overwhelmingly suppressed by vaccination.

Frankly one of the dumbest pieces of effectively pro-infection propaganda I’ve ever read. This infectious disease doctor thinks lockdown-induced immunity debt may have caused the Ontario measles outbreak even though this same Toronto Star article points out 96% of cases are along the unvaccinated.

🚨NEW🚨: Donald Trump is attempting to strip away federal support for libraries. We will NOT let that happen.

Last night the President signed an order to gut the Institute of Museum & Library Services. But together, we know we can show up & defeat it.

The amount of research @jessicawildfire.bsky.social typically packs into one of her articles knocks my proverbial socks—but luckily not my N95—off.
We don't want to know what happens when a disease like measles spreads through a global population in the wake of a virus that dysregulates their immune system, but we're going to find out and it won't be pretty.

Wear a mask.

@mark-carney.bsky.social, please ensure Bonnie Henry is never considered to replace Theresa Tam. She has failed twice in dealing with SARS viruses and repeatedly demonstrated a total lack of ethics. Canadians don’t need her sort of “kindness”. We need a CPHO capable of acting on sound science.
This was also the core of BCs failure (yes failure) to manage COVID: once Bonnie Henry denied COVID was airborne, her inability to change led to undermining masks, and ultimately lying about how it spreads in schools and hospitals.

How denial of airborne COVID transmission broke the world - Healthy Debate
Five years later, the greatest basic science failure in generations caused the pandemic harms highlighted by people across the political spectrum, and broke our social cohesion.

I think about this from @naomiaklein.bsky.social a lot. "Conspiracy theorists get the facts wrong but often get the feelings right." The sense that people are gaining wealth from human suffering while concealing reality is valid, but the root problem isn't evil people but the nature of capitalism.
