Dear new followers, thank you for following me but be warned: It’ll mostly be (sometimes profanity-laden) covid-awareness posts here.
I *will* try to post some art from time to time though.

You know #Measles is #Airborne, @cmadocs.bsky.social ?

Maybe get off your high horse & address your own complicity in ignoring an #OngoingPandemic, now in its 6th year, of another airborne virus.

For the record, you have NO idea how disappointed 🇨🇦 Canadians are in unmasked doctors, right now -
The CMA is disappointed and deeply concerned that Canada has lost its #measles elimination status from the Pan American Health Organization. We echo the Public Health Agency of Canada: the measles vaccine is the best way to protect you and your family.

Let's work together to keep measles at bay.
Canada can regain measles elimination status if we all work together: CMA

That the virus was more dangerous than the vaccine was pretty clear 4.5 years ago, though an enormous propaganda machine led by our current medical establishment claimed otherwise.

Yup, living this.
I’m fortunate to have two teenagers who (miraculously) are still vigilant, but other parent is the weak link, caution-wise. Ready to go full rhino.
I feel like I’m just waiting for the shoe to drop.

“a partner who is not themselves COVID safe is an incredibly difficult dynamic to navigate and ultimately leads usually to either a break-up or the COVID-safe person pushing their boundaries in order to join the “back to normal” world.”

Living with Long COVID often feels like living in a horror movie. Along with your disease comes a creepy Hive Mind refusal to acknowledge the dangers of COVID infection. In Vince Gilligan's new Apple TV show Pluribus, the Hive Mind comes to life:

With regards to measles, the solution is simple. Vaccination.
With COVID, large science and public health accounts would have to start with admitting they were wrong.
Large science & public health accounts are sounding alarms over Canada losing measles-elimination status - good.

But the silence from them on long COVID has been striking.

Building trust as an infectious disease expert should mean caring about preventing all viral-induced illness

Those who minimized the impacts of COVID-19 would go on to minimize every other disease if rewarded for it. Big round of applause to Leana Wen, Ashish Jha, Zeynep Tufekci, and every other liberal who endorsed Marty Makary for FDA Commissioner! You really nailed it!
Makary just spewed disinformation about dementia, heart, disease, and many other things

Glad I wasn’t the only one to see the parallels with Covid awareness.
It feels like there are fewer and fewer of us who haven’t become rhinos. 🦏

Never forget that the airlines were instrumental in reducing the Covid isolation requirements and paid time off.

Why? It was hurting their profits.

They were about to lose money again due to the shutdown… so the Dems caved.

Medicaid & ACA will be gone to keep airlines happy.

Profit over people.

I fully realize that a lot of the crap going down in the States affects us here in Canada, and I feel horrible for the people living that nightmare, but omg I have to stop doomscrolling US politics.

Why did I go in here?
Downvotes for common sense, I guess. 🙄

If only there was some kind of mitigation that could be used to help limit the spread of influenza.
I mean, it’s not like we eradicated a flu strain in the recent past or anything.
Oh well.
Canada could face ‘worst kind’ of flu season as experts warn evolving strain may be mismatch for vaccine | CBC News

Is this what they meant by “applying what we learned from COVID to future pandemics”?
Ahem: TLDR: shady farm ignores law re culling herd with ostriches infected with H5N1 bird flu then rallies a bunch of 🇺🇸 grifters and wackadoodle Freedom Convoy nut jobs- gets a lawyer, fights and loses cause their case was all 🐂 💩 - ostriches were culled anyway

Pretty cool to have two albums (that I created art for) get nominated for Canadian Folk Music Awards.
Feeling very fortunate to get to work with such talented and lovely people.
Thrilled to have contributed artistically to these two records which are nominated for Canadian Folk Music Awards this year. Congrats to @sfearingmusic.bsky.social and Suzie Ungerleider on the well-deserved recognition.

Great thread here on navigating COVID as a parent as well as the media’s complicity in mass infection.

The CBC has been hugely disappointing throughout the pandemic. (Looking at you, Ian Hanomansing and buddy Bogoch).

With a few exceptions, CBC has been a huge disappointment throughout the pandemic.

I get that the vax helps to blunt the acute stage of COVID infection. It may also help slightly in avoiding long COVID.
But we know it doesn’t prevent infection & that damage is cumulative, even if symptoms are mild, & increases LC risk.
A vax-only approach is just another form of denial.
