Well it certainly wouldn’t be “Fuck! You scared the shit out of me!”
if you were gonna get a tramp stamp of a line from a horror movie what would you get?

There’s a type of horror movie that’s basically “let’s be opaque and vague until the climax, at which point we’ll finally tell you the movie’s premise”, and that’s not mystery! That’s not slow burn! That’s not a twist! That’s procrastination!

Big recommend.

(And I do mean big. This book is chonky.)
I do not know why my "sleepwalkers mysteriously walk across a violent, divided America during an unfolding pandemic being investigated by a rogue government-built AI" novel WANDERERS is a buck-ninety-nine for your electromagnetic book reader of choice, but it is, so go enjoy an on-sale apocalypse?

Part of why @robbiebanfitch.bsky.social’s TINSMAN ROAD works so well, and has only grown in my mind ever since I saw it, is its utter lack of pretense. It manages to feel unrehearsed, unscripted, unstructured. Almost banal. You forget it’s fake. That’s hard to pull off. Tropes, meanwhile, are easy.
A Save The Cat book but it’s for found footage horror movies

“On page 1, you must have an opening text crawl explaining that these characters were never seen again. By page 5, someone must express displeasure at being filmed, and in response, the camera operator must explain why they are filming.”

Soros is 95

Who are they gonna blame for shit when he passes

(I mean, we know)
In his dissent on the Texas ruling, Judge Smith mentions the name "Soros" 17 times.

He uses the word "discrimination" 3 times over 104 pages, and in all instances it's to quote from the majority opinion.

If this industry is so fragile, why did anyone allow it to become worth billions basically the instant it was invented
AI advocates have warned that if every author in the class action filed a claim, it would "financially ruin" the entire industry.
Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
Advocates fear such settlements will “financially ruin” the AI industry.
