There are things I want to say about the people who made this ad that would get me banned from BlueSky, so instead I’ll just point out how embarrassingly media illiterate they are

My mom took me and my aunt for my birthday. It was a delight.

For context, Warren Leight was a prominent @wgaeast.bsky.social Strike Captain for a time, and I had the pleasure of marching with him.

Today for my birthday, my mom took me and my aunt to see the Broadway show Just In Time, which he co-wrote.

Nachas.

Gonna take a moment to applaud my mom for taking the initiative of hosting a fundraiser for / mini town hall with our local state senator, Andrew Gounardes.

Our collective eye is usually on federal government for obvious reasons, but local politics matter immensely and must not be neglected.

The traditional religious intent of the kippah, or yarmulka, is to remind oneself that God always reigns above us.

Over time, I think it’s also taken on another significance. A function akin to that of the Chanukah menorah.

It lets the world know, loud and proud, that we are here.
