Chuck Schumer Helps Pull Democrats Back From Brink Of Courage

Disgusting
People in ICE concentration camps are forced to kneel to eat food off plates “like dogs”, held on unsanitary buses in parking lots for more than 24 hours, crammed for weeks in freezing intake rooms where they sleep on the floor, and denied adequate medical care.

This is a human rights crisis.

I can’t make it to the Granfalloon fest in Bloomington this week, but I’m reading Cat’s Cradle in honor of the event. Can’t go wrong with Vonnegut

The classic say one thing, do another
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called the lack of healthy food options on Native reservations a “genocide.”

But the Trump administration ended a program that helped provide fresh, locally produced food for tribal food banks, saying the program no longer aligned with its priorities.
Trump Pledged to “Make America Healthy Again,” Then Cut a Program Many Tribes Rely on for Healthy Food
The USDA has ended a program that dozens of tribal food banks say has helped them provide fresh, locally produced food that is important to their traditions and cultures.

Feeling inspired after reading this one. A gift economy sounds like an ideal scenario and I’m hoping to start to put this into practice whenever I can.

Just finished this one and it was great. Labatut has a unique style, meshing nonfiction and fiction into a story that is fascinating. I have also read The Maniac and it is hard to choose a favorite between the two.

I have yet to read something from Kurt Vonnegut that I haven’t liked and A Man Without a Country is no different. One of the great authors and thinkers of our time

Trump’s goal is being achieved
It’s a recalibration of economic control.

Oligarchs don’t live paycheck to paycheck. They have the capital to buy market dips and recoup faster, acquiring more assets at fire sale prices along the way.

When the dust finally settles, they will own more.

The rest of us will own less. A lot less.

Donald Trump just illegally fired two independent commissioners at the FTC who fight big corporations that abuse consumers and workers.

Why? Trump's billionaire donors expect a return on their investment. He works for them, not you.

The courts must reinstate the commissioners.

Another example of Trump doing the things he accuses democrats of doing. No matter your political views, fired people based solely on their party affiliation is crazy
