I get why they aren't here but a Seattle misery index that doesn't take into account the Seattle SuperSonics is, ah, missing some context, let's just say.
NEW PROJECT: Welcome to ESPN’s Sports Misery Index. You tell us what pro teams you love and we’ll crunch the numbers – no fancy AI needed here – to tell you just how happy you should be.

My friends fairly right wing suburban mom rides it from downtown Bellevue to the spring district for lunch every day and loves it. What would Aurora Avenue look like with a line? What would Lake City look like with a line? What if there was a line from Ballard to the U District?
Late last week I wrote about how the 2 Line is performing well by exceeding 200,000 boardings for two months in a row...and then Sound Transit released data showing that it jumped to 300,000 in July.

Turns out people do actually want to ride the train between Bellevue and Redmond.

I just finished watching this documentary. It was so good. I went back and watched it the next day as well. I think every urbanist should check it out.

What would Seattle look like if we built 500,000 housing units over the next 20 years

Geno is better than those three things
Would be surprised if this Cooper Kupp deal actually came in at $15 million per season.

Seems like the math might eventually be that the Seahawks swapped Geno Smith for Sam Darnold, Cooper Kupp, and a third-round pick?

Here’s my new plan for Seattle: 500,000 housing units in the next 20 years. What would happen to rents if we did that?

Today is a reminder that people don’t know what is possible until you show them. We have to get more private time in front of elected officials where they can see what Seattle could be.
Here’s why what you say here matters. I met @pushtheneedle.bsky.social for coffee 3+years ago to learn about yimby urbanism. After that I met @caryw.bsky.social who’s doing great work in Bothell.

If we want to talk about DOGE and red tape, we should make it as easy for cities and towns to build or convert streets to look like this as it is to build wide, unwalkable ones.

Tom cable, noted offensive line specialist, had a hard time putting together good lines with what John Schneider brought him. Typical John out here passing the buck. It’s not like our linemen went elsewhere and became all pros

We have three competing elements fighting for finite land in Seattle

Housing
Trees
Parking

You can only pick two

I would pick Housing and Trees, but a lot of what I heard at City Council was folks who already have nice warm stable Housing pick Trees and Parking for everyone else.
