FYI: My interest is in spaceflight, not Elon.
@bsky.app How do I stop seeing posts about Trump? I have muted 'Trump' and 'republican', I have muted many accounts posting about him and I have labeled at least 200 posts as "show me less of this". Why does nothing work? Why does this platform keep spamming shit about Trump on my Discover page???

"Delays & insane budget overruns don't matter as long as its needed"

Despite SLS/Orion clearly not being ready for the 2022 Artemis 2 launch date.

As they were also not ready for the 2016 Artemis 1 launch date.

But talking about HLS & Orion, which are also part of Artemis, is somehow whataboutism

Some weird mental gymnastics here...
- Starship just did a fully successfull flight test.
- Shuttle not indeed, Falcon9 is cost-effective. Neutron & NewGlenn following.
- SLS/Orion can't land on the moon.
- Hmm, suddenly costs don't matter anymore. Funny how that swings so easily.

@idiokratie.bsky.social This might be educational for you: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intelle...

I don't care about Musk. You assume I do because I challenge ill-informed statements or straight up ragebait. Wrong assumption, I care about spaceflight.

Starship is quite literally the most ambitious launch vehicle ever attempted. Sure, some big standard expendable LV based on known architecture can be developed and built for a few billion and two decades

But that’s just not an equivalent to mass production of a fully reusable system

So, this kind of behaviour is allowed on @bsky.app?

Just had a great discussion at our Michigan town hall about how Trump's big bill is great for billionaires, and terrible for everyone else. Folks here and across the country are seeing how Republicans in Congress aren’t standing up for them. It’s time to put them out of a job.

Not to the extent that it costs up to $400 million, no.
Contrary to Shuttle, F9 is an economically viable rocket.

No, that's you making up strawman arguments. F9 is partially reusable, Starship will be fully reusable.

SpaceX changing space travel, huh? Pretty soon we'll be getting pop-up ads on the moon. Can't wait. 🙄 #SpaceExploration #ElonMusk #Capitalism #ToTheMoon

Blocked and replied behind block as expected. Some people really enjoy fabricating numbers and when they get proven wrong they just move the goalpost and rant. Also, clearly not understanding what a subsidy is or the difference with a contract.

"Everyone who disagrees with me is a Musk groupie" 😂

PS: Bidding the cheaper launch options is not a monopoly, plenty of competition in the spaceflight industry. But you can't see past headlines including mentioning so you just assume 'MONOPOLY'

We now have a petition anyone around the world can sign to help save NASA science by urging the United States Congress to reject the proposed 47% cut to NASA’s science programs, before the 2026 budget is finalized.

We need 1,000 signatories by June 12, 2025.
Help us save NASA! ✍️

I know many people are tuning out of spaceflight because of Elon Musk, however instead of turning away entirely, I encourage you to look beyond SpaceX at the rest of a truly incredible industry. So much of what is done here benefits everyone, and I hope you look to that instead of look away.

No, because the amount of spinoff tech and scientific data that we get from space exploration is invaluable.

It is the nature of humanity to expand, to say we should stop exploring is like telling people not to look up in wonder of what lies beyond.

Wishful thinking.

Even to the point of discrediting the work of 14,000 people to gain internet points over one guy
