I am trying hard but keep on falling into a black depression pit. Really hate this time of year. Sorry for gloom post.

Today I have swum in the cold lido. It was eerily foggy and bleak but beautiful. It helped. I have also eaten an excessive quantity of cheese with chilli jam and crackers.

Not been easy today but kids have had a good time and doggo and cats got lots of treats. Wife made us all an amazing Xmas lunch. I am blessed with my lovely little family… but this day is very hard for me. Nearly through it. Love to everyone ❤️

I’ve completely rebuilt the alt text engine and, I think, have something quite a bit faster and nicer here

Don’t save this link, I’m still testing things (and there will be more options). I’ll post the new one when it’s cooked. But can yall go throw some stuff at this?

Have been in a depression pit but yesterday and today I have managed a cold lido swim which has helped a lot. Also getting out to walk doggo is good for me. Going to try to get myself feeling festive for tomorrow and the next few days…

Mice have eaten through our water pipes in the kitchen, causing a massive leak and meaning we have to pay lots for plumbers to fix, just before Christmas 😭 I have to say, I am not feeling at all fond of those squeaky fuckers right now…

@bsky.app please consider offering a locked account version for peoples online safety. This would make the platform more popular.

What DID isn't: It's not "multiple personalities" or a dramatic TV trope.

DID is a natural, adaptive response to overwhelming trauma, involving distinct parts of the self that helped someone survive. It's about survival, not spectacle.

I have been reading lots about dyslexia recently as I work with many dyslexic kids. The penny dropped that I am actually dyslexic too! Alongside my executive dysfunction as a result of developmental trauma this explains my difficulty with planning & organisation…

I left academia (mostly) & am offering tuition to children & young people. Mostly working with neurodivergent kids &/ or those sadly traumatised by an education system not meeting their needs. This work is a privilege & a joy & feels like what I am meant to be doing.

As I said yesterday, it feels really lovely here so far. However, I feel a bit vulnerable by not being able to have a locked account. On the other place, I locked my account so as to avoid my abusive mother and potential work colleagues/ real life friends who I wouldn’t want to see my posts.

Though I have lots of ‘big T’ trauma, NONE of it makes sense without its intersection with Section 28, which left many of us incredibly vulnerable to further exploitation and self-destruction. Clinically, we must be deeply curious about the landscapes of people’s lives #cPTSD #TherapySky #Trauma
21 years ago, in November 2003, Section 28 was repealed.

I made this Pride flag using only NASA images and our team thought it would be cool to share on social (I work on the NASA heliophysics communications team), but it's getting all sorts of hate on the bird app and Fbook. Thought y'all might be more appreciative of it here. ☺️🏳️‍🌈💖
