I’ll be supporting Dylan Blaha and so should you. Nikki Budzinski has got to go. She does not share the values I hold dear.

For over a year our 2yo has been obsessed with videos of the Lowes animatronic Halloween reaper band. So for his 3rd birthday, we surprised him with his own reaper band. Now all he wants to do is perform with the 7ft tall reapers, specifically as an *animatronic* skeleton. He’s a method actor.

I still think it’s backwards that mass shooters owning assault weapons is considered a right while their victims’ healthcare is considered a privilege.

When Trump and Musk tout how much money they're saving by gutting cancer research and Social Security services, know this:

Their IRS cuts will cost $500 billion in tax revenue just this year. That's more than half the Defense budget.

None of their destruction is actually about saving money.

The problem with most machine-based random number generators is that they’re not TRULY random, so if you need genuine randomness it is sometimes necessary to link your code to an external random process like a physical noise source or the current rate of US tariffs on a given country.

I’m still in mourning following the final season of Vera.

I’m searching for something to scratch that itch. I’ve already watched Shetland, Sherwood, Line of Duty, and The Bay.

What’ve you got?

Can’t emphasize this enough: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the debased assault on our country, the antidote is connecting with other people in the flesh who are feeling the same way. There are millions of us.

Yo @durbin.senate.gov, no one is picking up your Senate phone and you don’t even have a voicemail. Vote no on cloture and the spending bill or I will do whatever it takes to make sure the next Senator from Illinois has basic constituent services set up during business hours.

@durbin.senate.gov

You are certainly not serving me, my family, or my community.

I had a group of folks calling your offices all week, and no one was able to speak with an aide. You don’t even give your constituents the opportunity to leave a voicemail.

AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

My hubby got me a foot massager for Christmas. I put it under my desk. And now I’m like, oh so sorry, I need to work on this for at least 5 more minutes. So sorry. It’s important.

I just keep journaling every day. It’s really important to me to have evidence of dates, times, things that Ive seen, who did what, what is happening.

All of this can fall apart and be deleted. But there has to be evidence. Writing matters and there has to be evidence of what happened

Opinions by Roxane Gay! 3.5⭐️

I love Gay’s writing. She is a must buy author for me. This anthology is a great collection of her published opinion pieces, but the format left something to be desired. I wish the essays had been organized chronologically. Full review on StoryGraph and Fable!📚💙

Yes. While there are absolutely things Democrats can and must do to slow, obstruct, etc, GOP hold both House and Senate majorities, severely limiting our options.

Johnson and Thune are handing over the own keys and relinquishing their own power. Even for the cynics this should be a shock.
We all like to yell at the Democrats, but it’s really Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate Majority Leader John Thune who are letting Elon Musk and his faceless goon squad make a mockery of their power as leaders of a coequal branch without uttering a peep or lifting a finger.

Still thinking about Intermezzo. Might change my rating…
And then I remember rating is arbitrary and dumb. My least favorite bookish thing.
