like i am not going to devote a fraction of my brain to being upset for longer than a minute, but this says about all you need to know about the legitimacy of TGA's awards at least as it applies to music

Another tech bro run thing you really should stop using if you haven't already. Our phones can hold cavernous amounts of MP3s, music-only devices can be found in abundance, and there's stuff like Bandcamp for direct artist support.

Fresh reminder that ModRetro's founder also funds death dealing.

Yume Nikki PS1.
Demo out NOW!
It contains two dream worlds to explore.

You can run it on a real PlayStation 1.

This is a fan game. I put a lot of love and care into it.
I hope you enjoy it.

Okay, seen a few people this week say 'Game's just aren't moddable like they used to be'.

Maybe some of the biggest AAA ones are harder to mod, but almost everything running on Unreal or Unity? You can crack that open. Game Maker, too. Godot, even.

VR mods are dropping for games barely months old.

my current thoughts on the phrase 'kill gameplay' is that what pursuing 'gameplay' has gotten us is these perfectly addictive, perfectly tuned, and perfectly *predictable* 40-1000+ hour experiences that often function to obliterate the self (games being, like, the "Diet coke of Casinos")
I've been thinking a bit abt kill gameplay lately. Still unpacking it but yeah I think the phrase resonates with how far off some games continue to stray from some form of self expression
