The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Reason 4857 why health care should never be for profit: AI DEATH PANELS.

This is the same kind of program used to deny claims at United Health, and they want to use this for VA claims, too.
What a cursed sentence (gift link)

“The A.I. companies selected to oversee the program would have a strong financial incentive to deny claims. Medicare plans to pay them a share of the savings generated from rejections.”

A history 🧵: 70 years ago, 14 y/o Emmett Till was brutally murdered in Mississippi. He was tortured, beaten, shot, tied to a 75-pound cotton-gin fan with barbed wire, and thrown into the Tallahatchie River for simply whistling at a white woman. When his body was discovered 3 days later, the (1/5)

If someone tells you there's nothing we can do about gun violence beyond thoughts and prayers, remind them:

—Gun laws in other countries have prevented mass shootings
—More guns don't make us safer
—A majority of Americans want gun reform

We don't have to live like this.

he's going to kill of us. and i guess that's the whole point.
I dare you to go to Annunciation School and tell our grieving community, in effect, guns don’t kill kids, antidepressants do.

Just shut up. Stop peddling bullshit. You should be fired.

Hey MSM, ask RFK Jr to define 'inflammation'. Ask him to define 'mitochondria'. Ask him how, specifically, that he can tell how children have 'mitochondrial challenges'. Ask him what, specifically, about children's faces and body movement indicates inflammation. He won't know. He's making shit up.

RFK JR: I’m looking at kids as I walk through the airports today...and I see these kids that are just overburdened with mitochondrial challenges, inflammation—you can tell from their faces, movements, and lack of social connection

Americans do not want to live under a military state, that was never the American dream. Our country was founded on the promise of liberty, not soldiers patrolling our streets. The Constitution is clear: the military does not police civilians.

Sen. Warren on Trump's attempt to fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook:

"The illegal attempt to fire Lisa Cook is the latest example of a desperate President searching for a scapegoat ... It's an authoritarian power grab that blatantly violates the Federal Reserve Act, and must be overturned in court."

Let’s be clear: deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda makes no sense—it’s not his home country. Nothing about this process has been fair. ICE is targeting him with cruelty. This is the weaponization of government, not justice.

As a former Texas State Rep, let me be clear: LOCKING Rep. Nicole Collier inside the chamber is beyond outrageous.

Forcing elected officials to sign “permission slips” & take police escorts to leave? That’s not procedure. That’s some old Jim Crow playbook.

We can't afford Medicaid.

We can't afford Medicare.

We can't afford SNAP.

We can't afford to feed kids at school.

But we can afford a 90,000 sqft expansion at the white house.

They're just gonna keep stepping up the waste, while robbing us on all the levels.

my husband has spent his career at the fed. we know this is coming. we aren't sure when- but we live with this knowledge and i'm tired of people telling us not to plan for it (plan for powell's successor is in place already).
I'm telling you, he's going to try to fire Powell on an "investigation" into the building renovation - and he's going to have his lackey IG Horowitz do it.
