Jane Goodall's work insisting, with evidence from her brilliant and tenacious fieldwork, that we were not so separate from animals, and they were much more like us than the Eurocentric theorists asserted, was so important.

Rest in peace, #JaneGodall. Thank you for changing the world for the better and opening people's eyes that nonhuman animals have emotions and relationships, too. Your advocacy and teachings that they deserve respect, freedom, and protection from humans is a beautiful legacy.

Attend a No Kings Protest yesterday? Thank you for showing up! An estimated 4-6 million people protested across the country. Wouldn't it be amazing if all of us picked one issue and used @5calls.org to contact our reps today and tomorrow?

Let's do it.

Just an appreciation post for Jacob being on the scene. In the absence of this reporting it would have been he-said/she-said. The sheriffs attacked peaceful protestors including kids with flashbangs, tear gas, and rubber bullets. We need more peaceful protest and more documentation on the ground.

Senator Alex Padilla is one of the most decent people I know.

This is outrageous, dictatorial, and shameful.

Trump and his shock troops are out of control.

This must end now.

Andry Hernandez Romero sought shelter in the U.S. because he was persecuted as a gay man, one of the "particular social groups" allowed to claim asylum.

There’s just so much shady shit in this story, but this really sticks out. Folks in NLRB’s IT unit were so freaked out by what they saw DOGE doing that they wanted to notify the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. Then this happened:

The president of the United States and the president of El Salvador have conspired to kidnap a man and hold him hostage in an El Salvador prison. This criminality ignores the rule of law and thumbs its nose at a Supreme Court ruling to facilitate his return.
