Here it is, your #BlueSky #Bike Content of the Day for Saturday, 9/27/25. Bike racks should be standard on all public transport. All San Diego buses have front racks, but, Trolleys have nothing even though Portland uses the exact same trolley cars, and has excellent racks -
ooo but I did see this on the Metra, my first sighting of a bike rack!

For teenagers in Matsuyama, cycling embodies freedom, independence, and resilience in the face of adversity. Rather than rely on parents to drive them from A to B, they are moving safely, happily, and healthily on their own terms. And cities everywhere should be inspired to help theirs do the same.🔚

All avoidable injuries are bad, but context is essential. Alongside this story, it's surely essential to say that there were 133,000 car-related injuries in 2024 in the UK, including 1624 fatalities & 28k "serious" injuries. E-bikes aren't the major problem.

The A66 dualling project that my MP is so keen on will return 48p for every £1 spent, 92p if dubious wider benefits are included.

Whereas for every €1 the Dutch invest in cycling for transport, they recoup €32 in public health savings.

Someone's spending public money wisely, and it's not us.
IMPORTANT: The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.

Let’s be clear— it wastes public money to NOT do it.
