For the past 3 days I’ve gotten a pair of dress socks from 3 different students with the message “happy birthday”. My birthday is 18 days away, am I going to get socks everyday? Why socks? I’m so confused. And I know they are doing this to confuse me and it’s working!
I don’t know man, maybe because this was already kinda known but this isn’t as shocking as it should be. What world do we live in

ICE violently detained a Virginia mother driving her daughter to school because she couldn’t recite her Social Security number from memory. “When she stumbled, the agent just lunged at her,” said her 16 yo. She showed her work permit, SS card, license, registration:ICE arrested her anyway.

The fact that it’s newsworthy to report that the president understands basic concepts in the US Constitution is an incredible sign of where we are.
“It’s too bad.” President Trump seemed to concede on Wednesday that he was not eligible to serve a third term, lamenting that it was an unfortunate result of the constitutional prohibition that he has mused about violating for months.
Trump Suggests He Knows He Can’t Run Again: ‘It’s Too Bad’
Despite the Constitution’s two-term limit, Trump had mused for months about a third term.

So, in a way, the US military can be considered a mercenary force for some unidentified individual. This country is fucked.

The military belongs to the people.
New: The Pentagon confirms to CNN it will funnel $130M from an anonymous Trump “friend” toward military pay.

Asked about the donor’s identity and any foreign or domestic entanglements, the WH referred questions to DoD. DoD then referred questions back to the WH

What’s lost beneath the incredible first paragraph of this article is that when the White House was asked for comment they replied, “I FEEL THE NEED FOR SPEED”

What the actual fuck is wrong with people. I refuse to ever acknowledge this is normal.

The fact that our president is a literal shit poster is terrifying. Why did no one just set him up with a twitch stream or something so he could just be that terrible click bait racist dude everyone laughs at instead of telling him to be president.

Also funny that this is now public record

And what Andrew Cuomo lacks in integrity, he could never make up for with experience.

President Trump is making this government shutdown unlike any the nation has ever seen, giving his budget office rare authority to pick who gets paid or fired, which programs are cut or survive — in an unprecedented restructuring across the federal workforce.

Started a podcast with my AP students to investigate issues that matter to them and learn their views on the world. Maybe we can learn something from the next generation?

President Donald Trump announced the FDA will immediately begin telling doctors the use of acetaminophen “during pregnancy can be associated with a very increased risk of autism.” However, the majority of scientific literature suggests exposure to acetaminophen in the womb does not cause autism.

The Kimmel suspension is a much bigger deal than you know.

It's really about a growing alliance between Trump and the companies that own America's local TV stations - like Nexstar - to turn local TV into Trump propaganda.

1/ Let me tell you the short story. It's chilling.

This is an actual exchange from a VP who took an oath to defend the constitution and, as a citizen, is expected to abide by the law.

May we one day have accountability for the grotesque lawlessness of this regime.

The president of the United States just declared war, actual military war, not a metaphorical one, on a major American city, and one governed by his political opponents.

In any other period, this would be impeachment-worthy.

FYI in 2025 about half of that ($101 million) was allocated for all public school teacher salaries for the entire state. Florida still ranks 50th in teacher pay.
Florida could be on the hook for $218 million the state spent to convert a remote training airport in the Everglades into an immigration detention center dubbed " Alligator Alcatraz."
An 'Alligator Alcatraz' shutdown could cost Florida $218 million
The center may soon be completely empty as a judge upheld her decision late Wednesday ordering operations to wind down indefinitely.

It has been wild to see what were always the two most paranoid pro-Second Amendment scenarios—the government snatching people away and sending occupying armies into communities—literally happen this year, to the delight of conservatives
There can’t be any gun restrictions because we have to protect against federal government tyranny, and if kids get shot we just have to live with it. Also the President can send troops to cities because the federal government can do whatever it wants. These two ideas are consistent and reasonable.
