So think about the really unreliable tabloids and web publications — Zero Hedge, the Daily Mail, Epoch Times, that set. What makes them unreliable isn’t that they’re always wrong, it’s that they go to great lengths to make it impossible to fact check them, and to phrase their slanders ambiguously.
There are a lot of critiques of LLMs that I agree with but "they suck and aren't useful" doesn't really hold water.

I understand people not using them because of social, economic, and environmental concerns. And I also understand people using them because they can be very useful.

Thoughts?

THE RISE OF END TIMES FASCISM

My first major piece of the new Trump era, co-written with @astra.bsky.social.

The governing ideology of the far right has become a
monstrous, supremacist survivalism.

Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them. www.theguardian.com/us-news/ng-i...

Since posting our threads about the tariff on books yesterday, both @kingsbookstore.bsky.social and I have received a lot of comments along the lines of "We all have to make sacrifices; your industry isn't different in this regard."

But here's the thing: the book industry IS different.

Wallace Stegner House from CBC.ca At the time, I was a member of the Writer's Guild of Alberta and received their publication. In it was an ad for a stay at the Wallace Stegner House in Eastend, Saskatchewan, open to published writers. I fit the description and so, on a whim, I applied. I was surprised when they called me later that week about a cancellation.

One of the things I keep seeing Americans say is that American soldiers won’t fight Canadians, and one of the things I keep seeing is Americans getting really mad at Canadian boycotts and yelling at Canadians that they hope they get invaded.

In 1890, the Tariff Act came into place in the United States. It placed tariffs on imports of up to 50%.
While touted as a way to build American industry, there was also the hope it would force an annexation of Canada. It backfired.
Let's learn more.

For what it's worth, I contacted my mla and the premiers office and said I supported a strong response to the tariffs.
Oh, good lord. Scott Moe doesn't even have a plan for Saskatchewan. NOTHING. This is the most useless statement I have ever seen on tariffs and threats of annexation from any Premier.
