History has shown us that denial only deepens the wound. When a society refuses to name the danger in front of it, that danger grows unchecked. Truth may be uncomfortable, but it is the first step toward healing.

I didn’t expect this post to blow up the way it did.

Speaking of which, I thought I’d clarify something: I’m not saying that people who voted third party or didn’t vote at all are the only reason why we got into this mess. I’m aware that there are other reasons why we got into this mess.
Reminder that people who voted third party or didn't vote at all are part of the reason why we're in this mess in the first place.

Until we have replicators, we will need wealth redistribution.

we need to bring the hammer down on wealthy and connected elites. it’s been desperately needed for a long time. regardless of party or politics.
Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

man we need a way to say "the moral rot and depravity of this country's elite must be burned out of it with cleansing fire" that isn't wildly reactionary-coded

Even though I vote Democrat, I’ve never been a member of the “vote blue no matter who“ crowd.

Americans showed up in historic numbers last week and proved they're willing to back a party that stands up to Donald Trump.

We cannot have the leader of our party be a man that caves to Trump over and over again. It's long past time for Schumer step aside.

It’s a frightening reminder we cannot rely on many elected officials to stick up for the non-elites, for the working class, they will not stand up for the poor. We need to primary them if they lack the ability, stomach, and drive to fight for the people they represent.
Eight centrist Democratic senators just voted to reopen the government in exchange for a promise of a Senate vote on ACA subsidies.
That’s not a deal—it’s surrender.
They’ve given up real leverage
for a handshake agreement that might never happen./🧵

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country
