No, my argument is that the founding principles of this country - the ideas that made it into the founding documents, which you can read for yourself - were not racism or slavery or genocide. Those things did exist in practice alongside the founding ideas, and were eventually mitigated by them
Will’s entire argument here appears to be “most people do not believe this country was founded on racism and genocide and they will get mad if you tell them that. And I will grant thats true most people don’t believe it. But that doesn’t make it any less true. Will goes further by denying it himself

Tradition states that last night Jesus emptied out all the jails. Spent Saturday night telling people “I don’t care what you did, people weren’t made for prisons.” The next day to prove His point He broke out of solitary. It is finished. Easter is incompatible with the carceral state. Happy Easter.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Mahdi. Mahdi is 57 and was a construction worker who labored in Israel before the war. He saved his whole life to build a home in Deir al Ballah for his family of 6. He lost everything. Him and his wife both have chronic health conditions.

My great-grandparents and grandmother survived the Armenian Genocide because their neighbor, a Turkish soldier, tipped them off and helped smuggle them out. You have options. You can support your community. Their great-grandkids will remember you with affection and honor.
I can't emphasize enough that the most important thing journalists can do right now is publish exactly this kind of article
