Thurmond was the same age as Booker when he set the record Senator Cory Booker just broke.

Thurmond was afforded a bathroom break and read from the encyclopedia. Booker held the floor the entire time and delivered a consistent, cogent speech for more than 24 hours.

Incredible.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble.
For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity.

What will you do?

Wealth is solely the product of excess labor—the excess labor of others. If laborers are not the direct recipients of the value of that excess labor then the expectation is that they will receive goods and services in kind— Infrastructure, healthcare, retirement security, parks, etc and so forth.

Without due process, how is a “violation of the law” substantiated? Unbelievable ignorance. Due process is the core of democracy and law
Indiana Rep Spartz (R): “You violated the law, you are not entitled to due process.”

Dangerously ignorant. 🇺🇸

Elon Musk has been a walking SEC violation for a decade and no one cared. The entire Trump era could have been avoided if the US took white collar crime anywhere near as seriously as it does low level drug crime.

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?
‘Over 1 Million’ People Wanted a Cybertruck. Where Are They?
“Demand is off the charts!” Elon Musk crowed at the end of 2023, citing more than a million reservations for Tesla's polarizing polygonic pickup—so why has it still sold less than 50,000?

For a pundit class that was once obsessed with presidential acuity, it’s remarkable how silent they are as Donald Trump — the oldest president in U.S. history — has frequent mental lapses.

It took 180 years to get money into politics. It's going to take 20 to get it out if we do everything right. No easy task. We can change, improve, fight, all of it. But little will fundamentally change until we get money out of politics. Are you in for the long haul?

A reminder during these marches: Like it or not (emphasis on not), Trump is our elected president— it’s too late to change that. Let’s not water down this movement with get rid of Trump messaging—our demands should be focused on what can be changed, on the accountability that we want to see.

In the short term, Trump and Musk cannot protect MAGA from the consequences of their lawlessness. Eventually MAGA will—or must be made to—feel the pain and turn. For now, what’s the best course of action for concern citizens? Protesting seems pointless. Do we sit back and let it implode?
