The ultra wealthy have long had undue influence over government and its citizens but this time they are DIRECTLY taking over the government. There can be no equivocating over this, no hand wringing—it is wrong. We the people did not start this.

In the absence of one or the other (direct or indirect compensation), the system is unsustainable without force (and you can see where force has been applied throughout our history, if you look carefully enough).

I am not really seeing the “what to do” in this article. Urgent action is necessary, but what actions are needed/going to be effective?

Don’t shop a lot so the fast has been fairly easy— using this opportunity to figure out how to do as much of my shopping locally (in cash) as possible *and* shifting away from Google and Meta products. Tricky figuring out where to get certain products that I usually only can get through Amazon.

Just like the Boring company, Musk will divert yet more money from public goods to his pocket
