Kessler syndrome is a very real danger for us and I don't think it's a stretch to believe that our entire society would need to be restructured if, say, we could no longer replenish our telecom, weather, or GPS satellites.

Kessler syndrome is a very real danger for us and I don't think it's a stretch to believe that our entire society would need to be restructured if, say, we could no longer replenish our telecom, weather, or GPS satellites.

I'll admit it's a bit embarrassing to only just be finding this out, but we can identify an asteroid binary based on the wobble from its ASTROMETRY!? That's insane! If my back of the envelope math is right that's like spotting the head of a pin needle from 150 km away. GAIA is amazing
