It’s worth noting that the president of the United States today made more racist comments than we’ve seen any president make publicly in, what, a century? More publicly racist comments than many presidents who were, with history’s eye, virulently racist humans, but ones who at least knew their role.

This is good, but people who care about human rights should be protesting outside the offices of Democrats who vote for this terrible bill and let them know they'll be primaried out of their job in 2026 if they continue to collaborate

I have all of the same 'feels,' especially the second part. But I can't check out. I don't want to go to my grave thinking that when fascism, or whatever this is, came to America that I said nothing, did nothing. I know I might be totally marginalized soon but I don't really care
I can't do another four years of feeling furious & hurt & disgusted & heartsick every day, so to some extent, I'm checking out. I feel no particular connection to America right now -- its mood, its culture, its zeitgeist. I'm just kinda stuck here, out of place, observing, like The Watcher.
