"While you are on administrative leave, you are not permitted on IMLS premises. I regret that such directions are necessary, but we must safeguard legitimate IMLS interests and systems."

Note that it's dated ON THE DAY that their administrative leave is taking place. 🤬🤬🤬
This is the email just received by IMLS staffers placing them on paid administrative leave for up to 90 days.

“Please understand that this action is not punitive but rather is taken to facilitate the work and operations of the agency.”

Holy shit! 😠🤬😡
SCOOP: DOGE notified the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS) today that the entire staff is being put on administrative leave effective immediately, I’ve learned from an agency source.

They’ll be cancelling huge swaths of grants/contracts and starting a Reduction in Force (RIF).

The X-Men baseball games seemed to happen regularly way back when. Has there been one recently? 🤔

Anyway, as a Scot I know nothing about baseball. I just assume the men throw a ball and then roll about on the ground. 🤷‍♂️

You can make the most impact in politics by engaging in YOUR town.
It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

That's the irony of so-called "parent rights" activists - they say they just don't want teachers to have these conversations with their children, but the fact is they just don't want to have these difficult conversations with their kids at all, that trans people exist, that queer people exist....
“...we all want what’s best for kids, and we all worry that our kids will hear things that we don’t agree with. But the answer isn’t censorship — the answer’s connection. We have to have conversations with our children.” — Author Elisa Stone Leahy

Soften the focus on what opposes you.
It is unfortunate that mindfulness went through its rising popularity, co-optation, and then rejection almost a decade ago. When mindfulness was taken out of its religious context and introduced to the public as a self-help tool, it was easy for corporate leadership to then adopt it as another opportunity for people to better manage themselves and become better workers. Then, naturally, the pushback—articles suggesting it was sinister that we were being encouraged to stop thinking in a time when we were being used.

"would you please put that in writing" is how you pull off insubordination without actually being insubordinate. Very useful when you are getting sketchy (whatever 'sketchy' might mean) instructions from someone who might not want to take responsibility for it later.

Have you been asked, as a federal worker, to do something you don't want to do? But they won't put it in writing?

DON'T DO IT.

If they're going to punish you? MAKE THEM PUT IT IN WRITING. ALL OF IT.
