Read this thread. What the ICC have done to the Women's ODI World Cup pathway in recent years is a scandal. Women's cricket outside the "traditional" cricket playing nations has never been stronger and yet the ICC cut all but five associate members off from the ODI World Cup pathway.
If you're wondering how UAE, who beat Thailand in the final of the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier in 2023 and again in the semi-final of the 2024 ACC Premier Cup didn't make it to this event?
The ICC excluded them from qualification for the 2025 ODI World Cup, based on regional results from 2019.

Read this thread. What the ICC have done to the Women's ODI World Cup pathway in recent years is a scandal. Women's cricket outside the "traditional" cricket playing nations has never been stronger and yet the ICC cut all but five associate members off from the ODI World Cup pathway.
You really have to feel for Yayin Kiran Rai here. Unbeaten 104 off 96 balls and he's been left stranded by bad lights, with UAE needing 30 runs from 4 overs for the victory.

I know it's painfully common for teams to ignore the better Associate players for average players from Test teams, but leaving out Dipendra Singh Airee in a T20 game is absurd. He walks in to any team (including in IPL) on his fielding alone. His economical bowling and six-hitting are just bonuses.

While this is a good move, I feel like the ECB is missing an obvious thing to have good players play in the Hundred: look beyond the test teams.
