I like how every two years at a T20 World Cup everyone goes “wow the associate cricket teams are much better than we thought, we should do more to assist their development and grow the global game” and then nothing changes

Real problems for RCB in that their backup bowling is weak, and they've only been protected by how good their powerplay bowling has been - but in their favour is that DC batting from 5 downwards hasn't been great so a couple of quick wickets might save them.

I have very much enjoyed reading Dynamic Coaching — A Playbook for Cricket Coaches by Ian Renshaw assisted by Stephen Rollnick. Ian Renshaw’s presentations to the ECB Coaches Association Conference in 2017 were one of my earliest practical introductions to the constraints-led approach, and provided a justification of my own preference for games-based learning. I have been waiting for this book since then!

A couple of bad drops (Sooryavanshi on 22, George on 20) let Afghanistan down, but the fact that India are cruising home with such ease suggests that they probably wouldn't have been enough to make a difference. #u19WC

My pre tournament pick of the Delhi Capitals have finally played the sort of match they are capable of. If they can find a way to deal with Bell in the power play, and get through 4 cheap overs from Mani and Rana they can beat RCB.

During the later 19th century, when amateurs took control of English cricket from professionals, there was surprisingly little resistance to the new status quo. Except in Nottinghamshire, where an 1881 dispute became the last serious attempt to resist amateur domination.

During the later nineteenth century, there was a quiet revolution in cricket. As amateurs took control of the county game, professionals lost security and autonomy. There was surprisingly little resistance to the new status quo. Except in Nottinghamshire, where an 1881 dispute over "naming rights", selection and benefits exposed the fault lines, and became the last serious attempt by players to resist amateur domination.

UPW finish bottom after not getting the balance of their side right, MI's dependence on a handful of players bit them when Matthews had a bad tournament and no-one could cover her contribution. DC haven't looked great but do just enough to get through.
