So it's autism awareness month. Personally, I hate that. We're aware of autism. Being aware doesn't change the stigma. It should be autism acceptance month instead. We're not a problem to be aware of, we're humans who need to be accepted. Especially now as the anti vaccine rhetoric escalates.

I hid my disabilities for years. I was afraid of being judged, abandoned & left behind. I had to deal with my internalized ableism before I could open up about my illnesses.
Our society rewards the healthy and despises the sick. Ableism is a heck of a drug.
