New Zealand generated more electricity from solar than from fossil fuels last week (excluding co-gen).
Off the back of 98 percent renewable generation over the week, prices fell again to $54/MWh - meaning power prices of 5 cents/kwh for the energy component of domestic consumers.

More than *anything* the people who actually know how technology works, who actually build things, wish that people would treat LLMs like every other technology, and be normal about them. Don't build a religion about them, don't force them on people, don't ignore the problems. Just be normal.

i will concede that if you want to influence other people addicted to X, X is worth using. but if you want to influence the actual public, text-based social media is a fool's errand.
One of the biggest mistakes left-of-center pundits and influencers made was decamping to Bluesky. They made themselves irrelevant, shrunk their audiences, and dramatically lessened the positive impact they could have on our public debate at the precise time we needed it most.
