Never forget that people who pose as "protectors" of women & children have been emboldened *by government & media* right up to the point where they try to burn women & children in their beds.

Every far-right riot and protest that was tolerated, every racist dog whistle from public reps, every bit of hate and misinformation allowed to spread by social media companies, all led to this moment in Drogheda last night where someone felt emboldened enough to try to burn children alive.

The Crew parklet fiasco demonstrates everything that's wrong with local politics in this country.
No vision for Irish cities other than packing them with cars.
No engagement with the wants/needs of the citizens.
One rule for FG aligned businesses one rule for the others.
And barefaced LIES.
Not pictured: Crew parklet, forcing the closure of the microbrewery at the end of the year costing jobs, a community hub for artists, knitters, gaeilgoirs, boardgamers, and knock-on vitality for the Wickham Way and city centre.
Well done Kieran Lehane and the Council executive

More people want to see a left government than the continuation of FF/FG.

There is an onus on all on left to build on the momentum from Connolly campaign.

All parties should now join PBP in ruling out coalition with FF and FG, so that the next election can be a clear choice.

OK, we're going to need to know how the "fireworks" line made it out into the media, when it very much appears that this is a clear-cut case of arson.

Hope Simon Harris is happy now. His racist dog whistle comments about immigration, days after his party's pathetic loss in the presidential election have nearly had people killed, and have made 28 more people homeless. Fine Gael are absolute loooooooosers who don't care whose lives they endanger.
The Green Party has accused the Government of “ignoring far-right violence and threats” following a suspected arson attack at an international protection building housing families in Drogheda.

Gardaí now believe petrol was used to start the fire at the building.

Simon Harris was so butt hurt after FG lost miserably in the presidential election, that he parrots far right talking points about immigration. Does he think these violent freaks are going to start vote FG now? This is cynical and fucking stupid. He's absolutely risking vulnerable people's lives.
Bad enough the Gardaí gave free run to the far right for years.

Bad enough arson against immigrant centres became standard practice for racists.

Bad enough we've already had race riots.

The Taoiseach & Táinaiste poured petrol on all the above during the week, & we shouldn't be shy in saying it.

It's so disgusting that some of the most vulnerable people on earth are left to die in the Mediterranean. Of course it was enabled by FG they don't consider poor people as human.
Every time I see headlines like this, I'm reminded of the jubilation of the European far right when Fine Gael MEPs voted with them to let people drown in situations like this.
The bodies of four migrants — one boy, one girl and two women — have been recovered from a sinking boat off the Greek island of Lesbos while another 23 migrants were rescued, Greece's coastguard said reut.rs/3Ehudro

Here's something that takes seconds and could have actual positive outcomes.

There is an official 'citizen's petition' system in the EU. There's one open at the moment to ban conversion therapy for LGBT+ people in the EU.
