“President Trump didn’t talk much during the press conference, somewhat slumping at his desk, deferring to Musk several times to answer questions from the press about the role of the Executive Branch, leading some to wonder who is actually in control of the WH”.

When one unhoused man said he didn't want to go to the warehouse, officers told him: “It’s either that or jail.”

He offered to move. They said, “No, you can come with us or we’ll cuff you and throw you in jail.”

ME: *smugly* It's very simple: when you have the letters "mn" together, you pronounce whichever of them are next to a vowel – mnemonic, autumn, autumnal, amnesty, omnivore – you see?
YOU: Wow, that's damnèd clever

Stop fucking saying he blamed “DEI,” which is some abstract, non-tangible idea. He is blaming people of color having jobs he thinks they aren’t qualified for. He’s blaming race. He’s being racist every time he says it. Journalists need to get fucking backbones, my word.

Right now, Trump and House Republicans are riding golf carts around Trump's own Miami retreat.

At the very same time, they’re sending directives to take food right out of kids’ mouths and cut off aid to families just trying to escape floods and wildfires.

"the uncertainty right now is creating chaos for local Meals on Wheels providers not knowing whether they should be serving meals today. Which unfortunately means seniors will panic not knowing where their next meals will come from."

20 years ago insurance companies committed a historic crime not honoring homeowners insurance policies in New Orleans after Katrina. In Los Angeles the pattern may be repeated. It already started. Before fire season a major insurer canceled fire policies even after collecting years of high premiums.

I’m a nonpartisan election official in North Carolina. Take it from me: vote at early voting (One-Stop). They can fix ANYTHING. They can register you on the spot, even. Take your ID, go midweek to early voting, and you won’t have to stress. On Election Day, your and my options are limited.
