RFK Jr was confirmed.
There is a lesson here for the future.

The only chance that science had to stop RFK was a public relations strategy—to mobilize enough of the public that people not paying attention to politics would learn that he is a disaster. We failed at that. Let’s fix it and do better. 🧪

The Trump Administration is hurting American farmers.

By freezing USDA conservation grants for farms and ending USAID, which buys 10-20% of the whole export market, Trump is taking direct aim at our farms.
USDA freezes farmer funding for some programs, conservation contracts
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has frozen some funding for farmers as it goes through a sweeping review, despite assurances from the Trump administration that programs helping farmers would not be affected in the government overhaul.

Maybe if everyone just keeps talking about how Elon Musk is the *actual* president, Trump's ego will get so bruised that he boots Elon and then we at least can subtract THAT problem from... *checks list of problems* well, it'd be a start anyway -H

EPA, CDC, USAID and other data sites of federal government are all down or being scrubbed of long-term data that WE THE TAXPAYERS paid for. I teach with these tools! Why are our universities saying nothing about loss of access to information and research implications? I cannot believe the silence 🧪

The freeze on NIH funding and the federal "blackout" on external communications from health agencies should alarm every American. As the bird flu outbreak continues to spread, the risk of a new pandemic grows—underscoring the critical need for research investments and transparent communication.
Bird Flu Enters a New Phase, Scientists Say
A pandemic is not inevitable, scientists say. But the outbreak has passed worrisome milestones in recent weeks, including cattle that may have been reinfected.

Universities are not businesses. Faculty deserve the right to collectively bargain. DEI issues don’t go away if you try to legislate them out of existence.

Let Ohio’s higher-ed brain drain commence.
What's in SB 1, Ohio's higher education overhaul?
Ohio Republicans introduced Senate Bill 1 to curb what they say is liberal bias in higher education. Here's what's in the bill.
