Helpful holiday guide: Why I’m voting for the Green Party and Zack Polanski

It’s that time of year when the topic of politics may arise with loved ones. So I’ve taken it upon myself to create these highly scientific charts to explain my thinking…

Helpful context for the slight hatchet job Rory performed on Zack. Zack recognising he needs to learn the figures (regardless of their worth in the political debate) tells you everything you need to.

P.s. Rory Stewart also got his numbers wrong, but I guess that’s ok?

This, by Jason Okundaye, on the bullying and the hypocrisy of the Right, is a piece I have been waiting some time to read. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
If the right really wants free speech in universities, why is it so obsessed with discrediting students? | Jason Okundaye
The media loves to manufacture outrage about what students get up to – and to discipline those who dare challenge conservatives, says Jason Okundaye, a Guardian assistant newsletter editor

Farage had the opportunity to do the right thing, the kind of thing responsible leaders might do….but instead he insisted it was all fine. Ugly language he said - too true that. With an ugly sentiment behind it. Racism. You know what makes me mad Nige, all them white faces in Reform pics..:)

Nigel Farage is wrong about the European Convention on Human Rights.

He thinks we should leave the ECHR to reduce migration.

But not only do just a tiny number of immigration cases rely on human rights, leaving the ECHR would be an unmitigated disaster ⬇️

Housing benefit is failing to cover the true cost of private rent – and it’s forcing people across Britain into poverty, ill health and homelessness. I’ve asked my MP to urge the Chancellor to fix this at the UK Autumn Budget. Join me? @crisis-uk.bsky.socialcampaigns.crisis.org.uk/page/176493/...

Imagine borrowing someone’s credit card, spending it on yourself.. then charging them for the privilege.

That’s the scam of privatised water.

Households foot the bill for upgrades, but £22bn will go to investors and creditors.

Look, £2.5m in bonuses is a drop in the water compared to the infrastructure investment we need to clean up our rivers – but it’s another leak that Thames Water refuse to fix.

Steve Reed should’ve taken them into special measures, not approved a bailout.

Taxing wealth isn’t radical – it’s common sense.

Labour’s taken the first steps, but imagine what we could do with a 2% tax on the richest: £24 billion (per year) for green steel, clean water, better schools and so much more.

A fairer Britain isn’t a dream – it’s a choice…:)
