If we want a future rooted in peace, justice, and environmental integrity, we must reject narratives that silence truth or weaponize fear.

We must be clear: Criticizing Israel is not antisemitic. Silencing such criticism harms Palestinians and Jewish communities alike.
Why criticizing Israel is not antisemitic
Understanding this is essential for protecting Jewish communities, defending human rights, and enabling honest public conversations.

Thanks to the Toronto climate community showing up in a big way yesterday - 60 of us! - the Building Emissions Performance Standards policy (BEPS), has been saved.
BEPS can set us on a pathway to retrofitting buildings to reduce emissions, protect residents' health, and create thousands of jobs.
BEPS in Toronto are back on the table. Yesterday, I was at a committee meeting, where there was a successful motion that will bring building emission performance standards back before council later this month — potentially giving them a reprieve from the dustbin.

Why is the media consistently saying "energy," when they actually mean "oil and gas"?
"Alberta energy deal" rather than "Alberta oil and gas deal" etc.
This is obfuscation.
It serves to present these agreements as beneficial to all, rather than specifically beneficial to the oil and gas industry.

1. This federal-Alberta pipeline MOU is even worse than I expected. Even before we get to the pipeline:
- exempts AB from net zero electricity reg (AB produces 44% of all electricity-related GHGs in Canada).
- delays methane reg by 5 years (75% redn by 2035 rather than 2030.
