Rural Hospitals in the US. 1,358.
50 billion over 5 years to save them.
It won't be enough. Not even close.
$613,647.52 a month for a hospital.
Half would be allocated funds through state grants, and a percentage through rural populations within each state.

When they're old enough, here is what I'm going to tell them:

Summer grilling usually starts with filling a propane tank or buying a bag of charcoal briquettes. But some people are ditching these fossil fuels for a more climate-friendly electric grill. My story for @npr.org: www.npr.org/2025/05/23/n...
Electric grills are a climate-friendly option to fossil fuel grills
Grilling usually involves burning fossil fuel. But some manufacturers are offering electric grills and citing climate change and convenience as reasons to switch.

Someone asked if I consider myself neurodivergent, and I think it's probably best to describe myself with some astrological-like phrasing: I'm Neurotypical with ADHD rising, if you get my drift, just like I'm an Introvert but my moon is in Social Butterfly.

Ages 0-4 are the most important, emotionally & intellectually, in human development.

Yet, in the US, we have a very high rate of childhood poverty and a broken child care system.

Congratulations to New Mexico for leading the way forward for high quality, free child care. Other states must follow.

Thoughts on Placebo-Controlled Trials of Vaccines
The topic of placebo-controlled trials of vaccines, and the question of whether it’s a good idea to conduct them for new and updated vaccines, is suddenly much in the news.

Just to be clear, this is a violation of the fundamental ethical principle in clinical trial design called "equipoise."

Equipoise means that no-one is exposed to excess risk just to test the therapy. That's specifically *why* vaccine trials don't use placebo arms.

Ethical violation as POLICY.

U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr intends to shift the way vaccines are tested, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday, citing a spokesperson from the HHS.

It means no work for dock workers. No work for truck drivers, no work for retailers, fewer dollars circulating. The cascade effect is just mind boggling.
