Women were already banned from becoming doctors (as of 2022), but yesterday the Taliban announced women could no longer become nurses and midwives, shuttering institutions where women were enrolled. Given the sex segregation in care, this is severely endangers women’s health.

Not ready for prime time yet, but cancer vaccines appear to be a promising area of immunotherapy. (I mean vaccines to treat or prevent recurrence of cancer. HPV and hepatitis B vaccines already prevent cancer from occurring in the first place.)
