Great call from Amy & @australiainstitute.org.au.

I stand with Randa
and all those writers, artists, journalists & others who have been cancelled for the sin of daring to stand up for human rights and decency, and question a genocidal rogue state.

I stand against Israel's toxic foreign influence.
I stand with Randa and everyone standing against hate, genocide, oppression and terror. In all its forms.

Zachary Rolfe is a racist!
If you engage him to speak at your function, I can only assume that you are a racist too.
If you go to a function where he is speaking, I will assume you are a racist too.
The buck stops with you!
What you ignore, you accept.
Speak out!
Take a stand.

On this day ...
On the 1st July 1975, 50 years ago, the Australian Whitlam Labor Govt introduced Medibank, Australia's first universal healthcare system. It allowed every Australian free and affordable healthcare, before being gutted and privatised by the Fraser Liberal Govt. #auspol #healthcare

ABC News reports China's censorship of references to the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989.

A bit like the ABC sacking a journalist for reposting facts about Israel's genocide in Gaza (or even banning the use of the word genocide in its unbalanced pro-Israel coverage)? #journalism #GazaGenocide

The thing that really annoys me about all discussion of AI is that it pretends the computers are creating stuff when they’re not creating stuff, they’re just recreating stuff we’ve already created and not paying for it, just taking it. It’s not thinking, it’s just repeating and not giving credit.

This week Peter Dutton suggested cutting school funding in an attempt to stop ‘wokeness’, but was unable to define what ‘woke’ means.

If only there were publicly funded places people could go to learn things like the definitions of words.

Peter Dutton’s plan to slash 41,000 federal public sector jobs is nearly 4x larger than the cuts Tony Abbott took to the 2013 election

Dutton’s proposed cuts are so large - 1 in 5 jobs - that it’s impossible that essential public services would not be decimated

I just keep thinking of the heartlessness of going to an election promising to sack 41,000 people just because they’ve chosen public service. The LNP talks of small business owners going out of business as a tragedy. How is sending thousands of people into unemployment not?

Can someone explain to me why Dutton thinks it’s a good idea to frame his budget with cost of living pressures while also opposing tax cuts and promising to cut 41,000 jobs? How does that help cost of living? This narrative is completely nonsensical.

Cass Goldie makes a great point!

That the tax cuts give relief to everyone... except the poorest.

If the govt wants to help those doing it tough, then raise the bloody rate! This would only cost only $4b a year.

I don't want a tax cut. I want a functioning welfare state.

I want Australians to not live in poverty.

I want universal healthcare.

Better education.

That's what my taxes should be for.
