As I said to someone earlier today, among the many terrible things going on is my less serious complaint that we could have had a government that I could just forget about and live my life.

Good day to remember that a US President has no inherent power over tariffs whatsoever. It’s not like war powers or pardons. It’s entirely delegated by Congress to deal with emergencies. GOP Congress cld modify that law tonight and bring this to a screeching halt.

I have spent a blissful 30 minutes following all of the alt national parks accounts on Bluesky and now I’m going to go and find the alt government agencies and probably the Great Lakes and volcano accounts, which used to be my favorite part of Twitter. Please let me know if there’s anything else!

Yo @durbin.senate.gov, no one is picking up your Senate phone and you don’t even have a voicemail. Vote no on cloture and the spending bill or I will do whatever it takes to make sure the next Senator from Illinois has basic constituent services set up during business hours.

My heart goes out to the family of Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood and a warrior for reproductive rights and freedoms. She dedicated her life to advocating for women's health and served on the board of the National Women’s Law Center.
Cecile Richards, the former president of Planned Parenthood and feminist activist, died Monday of an aggressive brain cancer. She was 67.
