I’m starting the new year with a new series exploring the mythology of the British Isles and its connection to the land and nature. This is Áine, of the Tuatha Dé Danann. She was the Irish goddess of high summer and gave farmers good fortune. #art #magicalrealism

About time the finished ‘Daughter of Kings’ pastel was posted as I put up a work in progress of her a couple of weeks back. The beautiful Finaliah.

‘Wilf’ 10”x9” graphite on Bristol Board. Commission of a much loved terrier from a few years back. A strong character as many terriers are 😂

If you want to see what people in Essex really think of Nigel Farage (when there are no bot farms involved giving the illusion of popularity) read the comments.

Most people, quite rightly, think he’s a lying prick.

Even if you're not moved by the argument that Twitter is a rightwing cesspool thanks to its redpilled owner, the fact that foreign enemies are expressing concern that they won't be able to use Twitter to manipulate Americans anymore should be enough to warrant the exodus.
If you needed even MORE of a reason to switch to Bluesky, China is "troubled" by the fact that they've invested so much time on Twitter buying ads, bots, and influencers... only to see the people they're seeking to manipulate (us) flee the site.

Process shots in the making of ‘Queens’. Unfortunately, I can only share four images. A painting starts with a detailed drawing, followed by a block in, and then one or two final detail layers. The foxgloves in this painting took three weeks to complete.

We need an urgent inquiry in the UK into foreign interference in our politics & media.

…one which needs to advise rules for Parliament to enact before the next General Election hits.

As Christmas approaches and we get ready to start celebrating let’s not forget about children whose parents are struggling financially. Please remember them and if possible buy a small gift to improve their Christmas a little bit. It could be as simple as a colouring book and some pencils

This makes my day.

Twitter and Threads smothered posts that linked out to other places. That entirely sucked. Delighted Bluesky is not getting in the way of people sharing things they want to share.
We want Bluesky to be a great home for journalists, publishers, and creators. Unlike other platforms, we don't de-promote your links. Post all the links you want — Bluesky is a lobby to the open web.
Traffic from Bluesky's @bsky.app to @theguardian.com is already 2x that of Threads

In its first week on the platform & with 300k followers, Bluesky traffic from @theguardian.com posts is already higher than it was from TwX in any week in 2024, where the account had 10.8m followers, but🧵
