There are far many more people on classical music Bluesky than could fit in a starter pack, but for those of you new here from the bad place, this is a good place to start!

The same reason US oligarchs use socialism as their argument to destroy our democracy. They don't want Americans to realize how much better their lives would be by embracing and extending FDR's social programs to include healthcare for all. Our economy is shattered due to wealth imbalance.

I’ve been in a room with Putin. He calls Ukrainians “Russians with accents.” His real fear isn’t NATO expansion, it’s democracy expansion. It shatters his entire argument for dictatorship at home. Because if Ukrainians embrace freedom, Russians may demand the same.

So this ad revenue metric is indicative of such a fascinating and weird set of business decisions by Google to inexplicably kill of SEO-- and I honestly don't get how they think this is going to pay off for them in the long run.

I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

A jazz pianist and singer, she has sold more than 15 million albums and is the only jazz singer to have eight albums top the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. She has won two Grammys and eight Junos.

Takeaway: Uncle Barry is super nice. Also just shreds on the piano.
Caught up last night with our piano soloist Barry Tan for a fun chat. See you all on Saturday!

Heartfelt Remembrance Day ceremony held at Granville Island in Vancouver. The trumpet bugle call: The Last Post, (Anita Eccleston), followed by 2 min of silence, then the lament: Flowers of The Forest (bagpiper Anthony). Flyover by WWII era jets near the end. #lestweforget

"World's first potential trillionaire has killed 600,000 people, including 400,000 children" is the only headline that anyone should ever read about Elon Musk
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Stay Weird Portland! 🔥 Today Portland had an emergency naked bike ride to the ICE facility. IN THE RAIN.

It was around 50°. Thousands were fully nude, half nude, or wearing costumes.

Portland is VERY dedicated to exposing the absurdities of injustice.

Here are some photos & videos. 🧵👇🏼
