Labour MPs urge Thames Water to recover £2.5m bonus paid to executives in April.

TW has branded bonuses as 'retention payments'.

What is the point of urging TW? It knowingly circumvents rules.

OFWAT/Govt have failed to act.

End privatisation. Give customers a vote on exec pay.

Thames Water shareholder funds in 1990, £1.3bn; invested ZILCH since

Extracted £10.4bn dividends
Paid £13.6bn interest
Now borrowing at 9.75%
One-third customer bills service debt
Pays £200m a year to consultants

Billions would have gone into infrastructure, if not privatised.

Must nationalise.
Public ownership is the only way to save the water industry
Public ownership is the only viable alternative but is opposed by the government

Year one ends with Reeves tears and Starmer still thinks he’s not the problem. Unlike the polls…

Tears, U-turns, market panic and a man who seemingly delegates everything, even blame. McSweeney, man behind it all? Still advising (badly) in the shadows.

What a mess.

A thorough and insightful summary of everything me and ‘im indoors have been discussing for weeks; Starmer’s advisers are pushing the Labour party down the road of self destruction.
Legitimising far right rhetoric is just doing Farage's job for him.

My take in this disastrous political strategy, as a lifelong Labour voter.

We need to “take back control”… of The Labour Party. Sack McSweeney and stop this, or step down.

Should care homes be reliant on low paid (another name for overseas?) staff?

It’s about time care for those unable to look after themselves was considered part of healthcare.

Maybe if care was in the public sector (and not underfunded LAs) pay rates would be sufficient to attract qualified staff.

Does anyone have any tips on how to be removed from ReformUK’s mailing list? There are no contact details on council elections flyer and the ‘contact us’ button on their website doesn’t work (full details of other local party candidates are provided on their flyers).

'Au Cafe Concert, Vernet's Dance Hall,' was painted by Walter Sickert during 1920-21, most probably in Dieppe; he was one of the first artists to examine popular entertainment in Britain outside the graphic tradition of artists such as Charles Keene, who he greatly admired.
