Watching two young squirrels with the zoomies playing tig in the garden is guaranteed to brighten up anyone’s day. They’re just high on life enjoying the sunshine. ‘Scuse the blurry photo.

I’m very jealous of your cute, dainty mushroom because I have this knobbly one in my garden. It’s a little bit shiny, very hard and has been around for ages slowly getting bigger and uglier. If anyone knows what this curiosity is, let me know.

‘In the bleak mid winter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak mid winter, long ago.’

A Christmas Carol by Christina Rossetti, 1872.

Lucky chance encounter with this beautiful (and friendly) cricket in Costa Rica.
Put on your happy face like this wee chap and celebrate/respect nature.
