Huge trust deficit from Gen Z & millennial voters in govts' capacity to act on the things they care about.

Not surprising when we see the lack of political courage to tackle the root causes of the big issues we face from housing to protecting Nature.

The xbench (especially @drhelenhainesmp) has been calling for household battery incentives for years.

Paying $150 paid to energy companies is a temporary patch. Batteries are part of the long-term solution to high bills & to the climate crisis. Let’s get on with it.

Australia's national finances are in poor shape. Neither ALP or LNP want to talk about the elephant in the room, their refusal to properly tax the massive profits of foreign corporations draining our mineral and energy wealth. We must fix that. #auspol
Whoever wins the election, a budget black hole awaits
The budget papers suggest the end of deficits would be a decade away, but new analysis says even that timeframe is unrealistic.

Telstra, Day 28. They send me an email at 7:18 pm last night, saying that seeing I’ve consulted the telecommunication ombudsman they regard the case as closed. But they still haven’t fixed my fucking phone.😡
In the end, I was online to Telstra for 3 hours. Back and forth, back and forth. Achieved nothing, got nowhere. SFA.
Chatting online with colleague number 5 for 25 minutes now. He is quite certain he can help me”. But so far we’ve got exactly nowhere except he’s asked me for pictures of my modem. He’s the third person to ask for that.

Colleague number five has just appeared, is certain he can help me. But then so were all the others.
Er no. Person number 4 can’t help but he is putting me through to “one of my colleagues“. That’ll be person number 5. This has been going since 8:45 am.

Australians will face a simple choice between Labor cutting taxes and helping with the cost of living, or Peter Dutton’s secret cuts that will make Australians worse off.

Because he wants to cut everything except income taxes for workers.

We need to diversify our research partnerships & increase R&D spending but 🇦🇺 govt should also stand up for agreements that are beneficial for BOTH countries.

While energy bill rebates are a big relief to some, many don't need the taxpayer funded subsidy which could have been better targeted to help some 600,000 households get solar on their roof & batteries in their homes delivering ongoing yearly savings in the thousands.

The $6.8 billion spent on power bill relief since 2022 could have subsidised the electrification of up to 600,000 homes.

Disappointed but not surprised that Fed Labor fails yet again to deliver for the ACT.

Where are the other ACT reps calling this out?

Still trapped in a Telstra nightmare. Three weeks and they still can’t fix my request. Today’s phone call lasted 53 minutes, had to “authenticate”myself three times. Then the recording of their “terms and conditions” broke down and refused to play. Third World incompetence. Breathtaking.
