The problem with the debate on winter fuel is it blurred rhetoric with reality - yes, you can win most people round on not giving winter fuel payments to the very rich, that’s very different to taking it away from people whose income is £12,000 that’s when you lose people.
What should the government do on winter fuel payments?

Return to old system of giving to all pensioners, regardless of wealth: 33%
Means test, but give to more: 44%
Means test, at current level: 7%
Means test, but give to less: 4%
Scrap entirely: 2%

If we want to change how people feel about politics, we have to start where hope still exists.

This isn’t how the Library of Congress works. It’s a historical record of books for research purposes, there’s no kids checking out books.

Fascism requires controlling the historical record and purging titles that disagree with their narrative. They’re doing the same online.
Reporter: The president fired the Librarian of Congress. Why?

Leavitt: There were quite concerning things she had done at the Library of Congress in the pursuit of DEI and putting inappropriate books in the library for children.

Many politicians - Tony Blair just the latest - appear more sceptical about public support for net zero agenda than evidence suggests is warranted.

Most recent YouGov poll found 61% of UK voters support govt plans on this, with just 24% opposed…

Hardly surprising unfortunately.. there are still too many #ME sceptics and the condition is still widely misunderstood. If you've lived with someone with ME you know the hurt of being ill and not being believed.

No Mr Trump.

Russia started the war.
Trump has fully turned on Zelenskyy: "He's always looking to purchase missiles. Listen, when you start a war, you gotta know you can win a war. You don't start a war against somebody that's 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles."

Too easy to forget there are plenty of Americans equally angry with Trump

I’m struggling to wrap my mind around enormous implications of this for global economy, including America. When will GOP - the party allegedly of national security and economic probity, step up? Not on govt cuts; mass firings; security leaks; illegal deportations; attacks on judges; not this? WHEN?
A blanket 10% tariff on the UK; 20% on the EU; 34% on China; 46% on Vietnam; 24% on Japan; 26% on India; and much more.

This is the biggest increase in trade barriers globally in decades — quite possibly since WWII.
