Maitlis, like all of the freaks on this programme, are too stupid (and egotistical) for their own good. An outcome where ‘this will close the only healthcare facility doing this’ is not really not worth the story.

Criticism of the BBC as an institution from the left is kinda wild; esp. in the context of every other news media organisation being owned by a billionare. I would really love to hear what the alternative is...

This is good from @manchestermill.bsky.social - even if Karney comes across as positively unhinged to the point of being a liability for the Council

I’m sorry but Akehurst is certifiably *insane* if he thinks people in Durham don’t want free childcare and free, fast buses

The fact that Chuck Schumer voted for mayor and will not tell people he voted for a fellow party member should be disbarring, imo

Hi Lisa Nandy! I’m a BAFTA winner from a small town. Instead of asinine questions like this, why not tell us how we can continue to make a living in the eviscerated creative sector over which you notionally preside?

So wild to me, because arguably being the British Culture Sec would be the easiest and most fun cabinet position if you… liked culture…
The mystery of “what culture is she interested in?”. She did not go to a single Prom. She has no interest in who actually wins Baftas. She is not interested in the Mercury Prize.
The last Mercury Prize went to a lad from North Shields, you'd think she'd be all over that but nope, zero interest

Honestly, we should be asking real questions how one of the largest pride events in the country could be run so badly that it has gone bankrupt

Good news!
The NHS will offer long-acting injectable PrEP.
6 jabs a year offers almost 100% protection against HIV acquisition.
Currently the plan is for limited rollout, for those unable to take PrEP pills. Better if it were offered to all.
Choice is key.
