I will likely post too much about Arsenal Football Club and cats. Just remember: You opted into this.

Can we learn anything from an unedifying few days?

Football is crazily emotional but let's look bigger picture. Everyone automatically takes a side in these events, but let's demand football stakeholders work together for a better version of best practice re. VAR, PGMOL and media reaction.

I should not know referee names. And Michael Oliver should not be officiating Arsenal matches. (Any matches?)
Today’s teams.

Odegaard out with illness, Merino with a knock.

No one should question the Cap's work ethic.
Arteta confirms Odegaard turned up today and was so ill they had to send him home. Merino has a 'knock' and missed training yesterday

Prediction time. Arsenal 3-1 Wolves. Gunner scorers: Ødegaard, Rice and Havertz

Commentary during the Everton match seemed to be that Arsenal didn’t look like they had the boldness of last season.

Hard disagree on that one. To me, it was the first match this season where we felt totally in control and playing our way.

Can’t be mad at Arsenal 2 - Forest 1, but the 2nd half was uninspired. Wish we would have pushed as hard as the 1st half. Put Trossard in at 2-0.

We need points but we also need a good goal differential. It could very well matter this year, and these are the matches you rack them up.

Ok. Going to go on the record with my Arsenal prediction for this season. 90 points, matching the Invincible’s total and winning the Premier League.

Champions League: Knocked out in the round of 16.

Someone I know referred to the insurance crisis yesterday. I had no idea what she meant and she explained it was this.
It’s also causing insurance companies to vacate states, a calamity for home insurance.
We really should be discussing how climate change is going to mean the current housing crisis will get much, much worse.

My U11 boys team just practiced with so much intensity. So proud to see them work so hard. #football #coaching #soccer

If for no other reason than to stop the mentions of Pepe anytime someone mentions a big Arsenal signing, I’m thankful for Rice.
Declan Rice has completed his £105m move from West Ham to Arsenal, the north London club have confirmed.
The deal eclipses the £72m Arsenal paid for Nicolas Pepe from Lille in 2019, while it is also a record transfer fee between two British clubs.

I never knew I wanted to be an advocate for low vision people, but there seem to be so many simple things we can do.

Downloading this font now. And I’m already alt texting everything I can.

The experience has been designed for maximum fun.
I recently learned Jenga blocks are deliberately made slightly imperfect, otherwise they’d rarely collapse.

It feels like we’ve been lied to.

This kind of candid response is always what I prefer over more canned corporate responses.

Bryan, glad to hear your voice and reflections here.
I have made decisions, and made mistakes.

those have caused harm to real people, including Black folks, including really great+knowledgeable Black folks who supported Bluesky.

I'm sorry. feel pretty bad about it. it sucks.

re/earning their trust, and everybody else's trust, will be hard.

Lee Dixon is one…three more
William Saliba will be only the 5th player to wear the number 2 shirt for Arsenal in the Premier League. Can you name the other four?

Sipping an incredible Gesha pour over from Narrative Roasters of Naples, FL. Light roast with fruit in your face. Blood orange, hibiscus and blueberry is what I taste. My absolute favorite coffee.

Way too expensive for a daily brew though.

Share any coffees with a similar profile — on the hunt!

When I was a journalist, I looked at myself as a vital piece of democracy — part of the reason the first amendment was written.

Now, that may have been a little too self-important, but I fully believe in The Washington Post’s tagline “Democracy Dies in the Dark.”

Both feel increasingly mortal.
There’s just not enough local journalists left to cover natural disasters.

(And even the ‘citizen journalists’ who were supposed to pick up the slack are scattering to the social media winds….)
I could not find real time coverage & now any in depth coverage of the flooding of my home town, near West Point, 45 miles north of NYC.

Only a decade ago, cable news covered natural disaster & catastrophic weather endlessly—now it barely registers??

Now emergency SMS is all that can reach folks?

Oh, and the broadcast is in Spanish, which he does not speak. Lol
So after he played in a football camp all day then had practice with his travel team for 2 hours in the evening, he wants to watch an 11-year old match.

Love this kid. <3
My 9-year-old son: There has to be some football on TV somewhere.

Me: Brazil and Argentina leagues are live.

Son: Keep looking.

Me: Here’s a Real Madrid- Barca match from 2012.

Son: YES!!!! <proceeds to name 70% of the starting lineups for two teams playing a year before he was born>
