WEAPONS reminded me a bit of BARBARIAN so I was pleasantly surprised to see they were by the same guy. Two for two. A modern day take on Hansel and Gretel wrapped in a Twin Peaks-style mystery skin, it's a great take on old white monsters destroying everything embodied by Amy Madigan's Aunt Gladys.

Bizarre seeing all the interviews with Guillermo del Toro about FRANKENSTEIN asking for his take on AI as if the film doesn't have Christoph Waltz as the 1850s equivalent of a tech billionaire trying to fund a plan to make his syphilitic self immortal

Guillermo del Toro's FRANKENSTEIN is up there with Coppola's DRACULA, THE WOLFMAN, Egger's NOSFERATU as a sumptuous, gothic, and definitive take on the material. Just enough Hammer Frankenstein to stay fun, it's a tragic, horrific, gory monsterpiece of a film. Solid cast, costumes, effects. See it.

Roseanne fit the bill until she ruined her own image
note that there is basically no such thing as a widely-accepted and culturally-revered American image of a blue collar *woman*
I mean, can anyone else even *be* blue collar? When was the last time we had a blue collar woman in the public eye?

HONEY DON'T! is, to put it mildly, a honey boo boo of a film. More frustrating than DRIVE-AWAY DOLLS because Margaret Qualley's character has so much more oomph and panache in this that the meandering nothing of a story feels more wasteful of her. Like a bad Tarantino-wannabe retread of BLOOD SIMPLE

For a second I thought the middle poster in the series was for Subway.

(The Jacob Elordi poster is so dark that the reflection of the restaurant across the street is the most prominent festure 🤣)
I saw #Frankenstein by @realgdt.bsky.social on Sunday and I’m still going over just how beautiful this film was. Superb acting, a fantastic script, and a phenomenal look to the film. If you are able, see it in theaters. If you can’t, watch it the moment it comes out on Netflix.

Ranchers so happy you could call them jolly
Trump: "The ranchers are so happy for what I've done. I saved them. I don't think you'd have any beef in this country if I didn't do that. So we're very proud of that."

Of course this administration is spending big in Argentina

Like other historical figures, they'll need somewhere to go once they're done
lol, great, so we're now subsidizing Argentine ranchers at the expense of American ranchers. Seems politically sustainable, no questions from me.
