I just made a small donation to the Royal Canadian Legion for Remembrance Day. It is a token of this American's high regard for the Canadian armed forces, who have stood on guard for liberty and been our stalwart allies. I hope we will soon repair the damage we've done. Lest We Forget 🇺🇸 🇨🇦

@billkristolbulwark.bsky.social How would you feel about like-minded people adopting the identifier "Kristolsheviks"?
We need a new political vocabulary all around. As a former "conservative" I've watched that term disappear into a vaporous cloud of contradictions. By some definitions I'd now be a "centrist," but I am more radical than some on "the left" when it comes to responding to the current crisis.

Sorry, I didn't think there was any way for the Dems to "win the shutdown" in the sense of forcing concessions from a Republican Congress that answers only to Trump. But the Dems *have won*, I'd argue, because they have exposed the real agenda of the GOP re: affordability and health care. Dems win.

The President pardoned members of his private militia after they failed to overturn an election; they, in turn, pledge their support to him and urge him to use them to police civil society.
New:

On The Gateway Pundit's podcast yesterday, Stewart Rhodes announced he's relaunching the Oath Keepers

He also urged Trump to “call us up as a militia" & "order us all to come together in our counties under his command."

Canadians have been among America's fiercest allies on battlefields from Europe, to the Cold War, to Afghanistan and Iraq. As we mark our Veterans Day, why not also honor Remembrance Day and our fallen Canadian brothers- and sisters-in-arms? Please donate and/or share.

This depraved-heart murder, in progress on an unthinkable scale, is the worst moral injury so far inflicted by this wicked regime.
Hundreds of thousands of people, dead because of a decision made by the world's richest man
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

I hope that Mamdani understands that he'll stride into City Hall and find that the mechanisms and relationships of city governance are about as functional and up to date as the Chernobyl control room.

Disgraceful. Though they will be punished soon enough when the terms of the deal are changed after the fact. Cowards die a thousand deaths or something like that.

A mission-driven organization can't serve all causes equally and simultaneously. A mission to do everything is a mission to do nothing. The Sierra Club is not the only example of this kind of self-shattering implosion at a time when advocates are needed desperately. www.nytimes.com/2025/11/07/u...

@jvl.bsky.social is this Catholic Integralism?
If your government thinks the Pope “doesn’t know what he’s talking about” when he defends migrants’ dignity, the world should see the warning sign. The US is no longer leading on human rights. It’s suppressing them.

I was just wondering about Memphis. There have not been as many outrageous stories circulating as from Chicago. Probably explained by the weaker news journalism there.
Reggie Williams was walking to a corner store when armed authorities aggressively asked him if he was from Ethiopia or Ghana, he said

He and other Black Memphis residents have been reporting harassment by Trump’s police task force: "I don't feel safe"
