We are picking up speed & intensity on Ukraine's EU path.

Today, Member States have provided guidance to enter a new phase of accession negotiations on fundamentals, internal market & external relations.

A 10 point plan will prioritize reforms including on anti-corruption.

A continent without courage.

On Europe’s psychology of weakness and why it doesn’t have to be this way.

My oped in @politico.eu:
OPINION: The intense diplomatic maneuvering to end the war in Ukraine has revealed a troubling reality: Even when it comes to its own security, the EU struggles to be a central player.
Europe’s psychology of weakness
It’s time the EU ditched its failing strategy of “react, hope, repeat.”

A few experts going right now: "hear me out, Budapest Memorandum, keeping Ukraine out of NATO, telling it to accept loss of Crimea, and pretending the Minsk Accords meant to save Ukraine's sovereignty were all mistakes, but if we now combine all this idiocy into a 28-point plan, it might work!"

If Germany were to achieve the same, I'd guess the discussion about EVs might be different here.
On the top 10 of most sold new car models in Denmark, 8 are electric!
- List is dominated by VW group.
- Tesla outside the top 10 list, down to a market share of 2,4%

EV share:
- 87.5% among private buyers
- 67,2% among businesses

Ukrainians can count their protests over Zelensky stripping their anti-corruption bodies of independence–and then his U-turn–as another street victory. And proof Ukraine remains a burgeoning if imperfect democracy, despite creeping authoritarian tendencies of its leaders, and in contract to Russia.
News: Ukraine’s parliament voted to restore the independence of the country’s anti-corruption agencies, reversing a push to place them under the authority of a presidential appointee that triggered rare wartime protests and criticism from western partners.

Cross-border cooperation also helps bilateral disputes disappear. We don’t need to invent the recipe for reconciliation. We already have it: European integration.

Nova Gorica & Gorizia, reunited as European Capital of Culture, are the proof.

Cross-border cooperation has always been an incubator for EU enlargement. It encourages people to think and cooperate beyond their city or region. It inspires communities to think truly European.

But Europe has an overlooked trump card: when it comes to manufacturing it blows the US out of the water, giving Europe the ability to rearm.
