We need to understand, that calling Republicans out for hypocrisy, or even using it to make fun of them, is a complete non-starter. They just don’t care at all. In fact, they *like* it when we accuse them of hypocrisy. It shows them we’re still wasting our powder over something meaningless to them.

This is why trying to point out their hypocrisy to them is a waste of energy... they simply do not care about that.

This put into words exactly why I've felt so exhausted by people smugly calling out the hypocrisy as if it's a huge own. They do not care about being hypocrites. They only care about power.
When someone says one thing to gain power and then a contradictory thing when exercising that power, the most useful lens for understanding it is power, not hypocrisy.

Can someone explain to me why putting cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves in pie is good and delicious, but putting cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves in anything else is bad and worthy of ridicule? Bonus points if the reason isn't misogyny.
