Several fanfics-turned-novels made it onto the NYT bestseller list this year. We're going to see more and more publishers going to AO3 to find things that are already popular and then publishing them with the serial numbers filled off.

Most of the popular ones are regular novel length, 400+ pages. Maybe she's reading shorter self-published stuff on Kindle Unlimited?

I was dorm mates with a swarm of ladybugs in college and they were mostly chill. It also made a couple of my other dorm mates (who were hedgehogs) extremely happy.

I read these books (against my better judgement I like some trash romance sometimes okay) and one of the funny things about this is that garlic is never mentioned. Also, the craven are more zombie than vampire.

We need to understand, that calling Republicans out for hypocrisy, or even using it to make fun of them, is a complete non-starter. They just don’t care at all. In fact, they *like* it when we accuse them of hypocrisy. It shows them we’re still wasting our powder over something meaningless to them.

On NPR, I heard a scientist respond to a question about RFK with, "I don't know what he's talking about and he doesn't either." So this is pretty much accurate.

I saw real ones for sale for the first time this weekend. The Spirit Halloween knock off store that took over our Joann Fabrics has a bunch of them for some reason. And they are all like $80???

Not sure I would say racist. They are fostering the belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

This and I still consider myself a relatively low maintenance woman because I don't do manipedis or lashes and get my hair cut pretty infrequently with no color.
