Fascinating reading the new Malaysia-US trade agreement. The countries have agreed to "economic security alignment", which effectively means that Malaysia lets the US set its trade policies in strategic sectors. If the US introduces a tariff or export restriction, Malaysia promises to follow suit.

I you had asked me 10 years ago, I would have said first past the post democracies like the UK were immune to challenges from third parties. The collapse of both the traditional left and right is honestly shocking.

Jag tror det här är en strid MP bara kan förlora på. Stödet för kärnkraft är rekordstort i Sverige. Det är retoriskt hopplöst att å ena sidan hävda att klimatet är vår tids stora ödesfråga och å andra sidan förklara att man kämpar emot klimatsmart energiförsörjning.
Bara fram till 2019 hade kärnkraft besparat världen 60 gigaton CO2.
Tänk på det nästa gång du hör någon säga att de ‘prioriterar klimatet’.

There is a rule of law crisis in the US, and I don't know how it can be fixed without GOP participation.
The Varieties of Democracy Institute produces some of the most commonly used democracy data in academia. Now the head of the institute says that today the US should no longer be considered a democracy, but rather an electoral autocracy.

An inherent part of populism is that it starts with a story and looks for confirmation rather than starting with the facts and build a story from there. In somewhat functioning discourse, populist elites eventually have to give some ground to reality. In the US however, reality has been abandoned.
