My niblings have this little track with miniature race cars and they were playing with it this morning.

My 3-yo niece faces a malfunction and her car jumps the track, to which she responds “you gotta be kidding me.”

The family resemblance is fucking uncanny.

Polyamory IS extremely for me but I fully agree.
look, polyamory is extremely not for me but I have a ton of friends who it works great for, so obviously I disagree with him here

but I always find it very funny when you get a bunch of outraged posts about the Pope being Catholic

even if he’s pretty cool for a Pope he is, you know, the Pope
In a new doctrinal note, Pope Leo and the Vatican sharply reject polygamy and growing Western polyamory, praising monogamy as an exclusive union between one man and one woman.

Had to watch only the last 10 minutes of Michigan-Auburn, and without audio, so very sad to learn I missed Bruce Pearl calling his kid getting demolished.

Fuck North Jersey traffic. So fucking much.

Traffic is second only to football in its ability to completely remove any feelings of empathy I have. If I could push a button to make sure every other person on the road died slowly and painfully but I’d get to drive the speed limit I would slam the button so hard I’d break my hand.

Can confirm. Hired some folks to work siding two months ago and the company rep told me they couldn’t find enough people to work in DC.
“28% of contractors, as of late August, say they’ve been either directly or indirectly impacted by enhanced ICE enforcement... Complete Roofing Solutions in D.C. closed... the company said its crews were terrified of working in the city.”

The same fear is hitting job sites nationwide.

Cannot overstate how, from my perch as a national-security reporter, this would have been an earth-shattering scandal in a prior era.

Just watched the UCLA botched fake field goal. I have no particular investment in these teams and generally like both of them but immediately felt bad and very tense.

It is the memory of “trouble with the snap” almost a decade later. The tone of the call brought back that moment.

Love the Maryland game because it’s like a 60/40 split in the fans. Pretty friendly place to play.

There’s so much on this site that pushes back against this view and it’s nice to see an unabashed embrace.

Obviously not every farmer voted for it but voting for Trump is evil, stupid, or both and the farmers (and everyone else) who did deserve to suffer for their evil or stupid choices.
It would be tragic except that they voted for it.

I don’t want to hear about norms, I don’t want to hear about looking forward not back, I don’t want to hear about “bipartisanship”

I want the filibuster gone, the court packed, new states, and a top to bottom cleaning of the federal government that ends with a lot of people in jail

Update on Amazon usage:

I’ve now placed 3 orders total in 2025. Probably all 3 could have been found elsewhere with effort to the third one—some deep reach clamps—was surprisingly hard to find from other sources.

I continue to spend far too much at Whole Foods though.

There’s a lot that should be laid at the feet of billionaires but I’m still annoyed that they have become the go-to explanation for every social ill and in a way that absolves everyone else of responsibility for bad ideas and bad choices.

Mod dems find the urban PMC a political inconvenience to be dispensed with

Progressives feel queasy about the idea that PMC people making material demands

And conservatives/ Nazis are waging a literal class war on the urban professional class

This perspective is a near consensus position across the political spectrum in this country.

Moderate democrats, socialists, conservatives, and Nazis agree that urban professional class renters are not deserving of political representation.
These people do not believe that the middle and professional classes have moral standing to do politics in their material self interest.
